Gratitude comes from knowledge
By: Diane Dufour
In the agency world, we’re fortunate to work on so many diverse projects. No two days are the same. Our 20-person team delivers on print design, web design and development, and video productions. There are some projects that stand out to me more than others. Recently, we worked on an interesting print product — a 150-page Manual and 52-page Workbook for Dairy Farmers of Canada.
As a kid growing up in rural Ontario surrounded by farms and a few livestock of our own, I found these products fascinating. The program, ProAction, is an on-farm quality assurance program that helps protect us in how dairy farmers must manage their businesses. It covers six main points: milk quality, food safety, animal care, livestock traceability, biosecurity, and the environment.
The detail in these two products is a testament to how Canada cares about what we do in the food industry. Because of this proactive structure and guidelines, Canada’s dairy farmers are recognized as world leaders in producing quality products.
I was awestruck by the depth of the content. I realized that with knowledge, comes gratitude. Canada does a lot right. The next time you pour some milk or cut into a piece of cheese, know that a lot of thought and care has gone into getting this from the farm to your table.
